April Wreath

Okay, so I know that we are half way into April and there is still no wreath.  But, I think we are going to do the April wreath a little different from the other wreaths.  I love for a wreath to represent the month. So for this month we are starting with a bare grape-vine wreath and slowly adding flowers.  At the beginning of April there are little to no flowers and by the end there are so many flowers in bloom. I think that is the very best way to represent April.

I also have to say that this is the hardest time of year.  The days are sunny and it really feels like spring is in the air.  I grab out the bucket and mop and clean the deck off, tidy and clean the back deck…. then the very next day there is snow and everything feels yucky again.  Not to mention messy.  This year I am trying to keep myself busy until May.  That way I will not be fooled into spring cleaning over and over again.

Anyway, here is what we are starting with.  As we go through the month more flowers will be added to the wreath.

The first flower to pop through the ground are daffodils.  I love them.  Here in Southern BC, the daffodils grow in the side of the highway.  The bright yellow clumps of flowers showing all their glory during the dreary yucky weather remind me to let the Light shine even when the circumstances are not ideal.

Then as we head through the month the colorful array of tulip start to show off their beauty.   Oh the glory of spring.
