I am so excited to share projects and ideas with other bloggers and readers. I first have to say that this blog has been influenced by many of my talented friends who have their own blogs. But mostly from Brook at All Things Thrifty (Her blog is so much fun, check it out here ) She is an incredibly talented women who manages her growing brood as well as keeps her home looking amazing with her thrifty and creative decor. With my blog I intend to document all the interesting and usually chaotic adventures in my everyday life.
The blog name, which took me just about forever to come up with, is called Chaos, Cookies and Laundry because those are the things, as well as His Grace, that I can count on everyday.
The Chaos ensues each day as a result of my 3 cute kiddies, 1 crazy cat and a very needy dog who are always in need of something. It would not be so chaotic if I was not in the middle of about one hundred projects that are not always kid friendly and, according to me, time sensitive. Then there is my wonderful husband. Who sometimes wishes his commute home was a little longer because that is the only time of peace and quiet during his day. But I know he loves the chaos. Often he says “why is it that your ideas make my back hurt?” He is the brute force and handyman-ness behind most of the projects that happen around here. To which and am always thankful.
As a way to kick off my blog I am committing to baking all of the Cookies in the really great Martha Stewart Holiday Cookie magazine. There are 110 different cookies to discover. Some I have made and they have become family favorites. Some I am nervous for because they require ingredients that do not normally go into cookies (such as Thyme and Rosemary). Other I am super excited for because they require new kitchen gadgets for my collection!
Laundry is a staple in my house, and if there is ever a time that I am running late, over whelmed, slightly wrinkled (my clothes, not my face) chasing half clothed kids, tidying the house or buried under house work there is laundry, in some form or another, at the center of it.
I hope that you enjoy my blog, I am excited to share the pandemonium!
